The book on the nightstand: Snow White

by Ramona Lucarelli

The usual fairy tale in the unusual book.

Snow White by Xavier Deneux surprises in its shape and its colors.

The Parisian illustrator is in fact famous for his tactile stories. Small books, in square format, with short portions of text in block letters. Nothing miss to tradition. There are all of them: the stepmother, the hunter, the seven dwarves, the apple, Snow White, the prince and the mirror.

The latter questioned doesn’t betray the queen and recites, as expected, his part:

You are beautiful, my queen, but Snow White is even more beautiful!

In an alternation of white, red, black, gray and a hint of yellow and robin egg’s blue, each cardboard cutout page hides an embossed or carved element that can be touched to enter in history through touch in a perfect Deneux style.

The author brings the popular tale of the Grimm brothers back to the little ones (from 2 years upwards).

A gem, trust me.
