BEYOND THE CHRISTMAS TREE: 7 IDEAS TO DECORATE YOUR HOUSE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

by Sara Cartelli

The countdown has officially started. Almost all of us have made the Christmas tree, someone the Nativity scene, many have hung the lights on their balcony or on the garden trees. If you are thinking that what you have already done is not enough, if you would like to make your home even more christmassy, you are in the right place. Today I found 7 beautiful inspirations to decorate your home and make it perfect to welcome guests and immerse yourself completely in the Christmas spirit.

Here are my 7 ideas for decorating your home for the holidays:

o1. THE WREATH

Hang on the door or on the wall: the Christmas wreath is a classic that goes with everything, a bit ‘like white, never out of tune. You can buy a ready-made one, or decorate it with Christmas baubles, bows, bells, or natural materials like hot peppers, berries and pine cones. What you see in the picture is an idea that comes from the Christmas catalog of H&M home.

o2. LOUMINOUS JAR

Get a jar, battery-powered LED lights, some pinecone or cinnamon sticks. Put it all together and you will get an original decoration for your furniture and sideboards, or to be used as a centerpiece.

o3. PAPER DECORATIONS

Snowflakes and stars that come down from the ceiling to decorate the table, a corner of the house or the entrance. An original idea with a very low budget.

o4. DECORATED BRANCHES

In pure Nordic style, the branches with hanging Christmas decorations are perfect for any space.
A simple idea from the Ikea Christmas collection.

o5. GINGER COOKIES

Ginger cookies are a classic of tradition. You can eat them, hang them on the Christmas tree, create a centerpiece … there is no limit to the imagination. These nice molds are from Ikea.

o6. CANDLES

If there is one thing that fully render the magic of Christmas, it is certainly the warm, dim light of a candle. This is an idea by Bloomingville, but you can easily reproduce it by applying many variations.

o7. THE DECORATED STAR

Once again by Bloomingville, this beautiful colored metal star can be decorated as you prefer and hung wherever you want. A valid alternative for those who don’t like the most traditional wreaths.

Among these proposals, I chose decorated branches, luminous jar and candles. I hope you can find what is right for you.

Enjoy your Christmas decoration!
