My happy news

by Kristel Cescotto

Repeat like a mantra: happiness is measured by counting the smiles received, the laughter heard and the hugs gifted instead of the money earned, the deadlines respected or pounds lost.

They introduce us to an idea of happiness as a mere unit of measurement, like a cold caliber for assessing personal success. An idea with a lack in depth, intimacy, truth. Because aspiring to be happy is very different from cultivating an ambition: it is rather a condition to be lived permanently.

Happiness needs research, care, protection.

Happiness has more faces, interconnected like those of a prism: satisfaction, balance, health, love and all the rest. To fully enjoy its reflexes we need to let ourselves and things go.
Happiness lies in the present moments, it is presence. And we can be present even with just a hug.

We live in a fragile historical moment, too often governed by anger and frustration.
Where it is allowed and even accept to spit hatred in various guises, like those of a comment on a post on social media.
Where it is easier to ignore than to help, where being fragile is a sin.
Where the insult is around the corner, where one feels “shame of good”, where good news is no news. But we have some good news.

Choosing happiness is the driving force of all the every day positive you reserve. This is why we believe that sharing good vibes is one of the media to reach it. And we also believe it is a fundamental act to make the world a kinder place to live in.

Even the online reality needs happiness and can be at the same time an help to generate it in the real world. This November we decide to celebrate it with the hashtag #myhappynews, recognizing the importance that telling happiness has in our lives – yes, even in the one shared on social networks.

Save the date: November 21st, this is the date chosen to pay attention to all those little happy things we witness every day and share them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Everything is worth: photos, videos, words; an happy Monday, a song rightly sung in the shower, the morning coffee, a cloudless sky.

We have a dream and this dream is that, at least for a day, the spiral of hatred that populates the web will be swept away by your happy news.

Tell everyone, spread the word: the more we are the better we go on!
We’ll waiting for you with open arms to spread our happiness.
