Not just a mirror: 4 alternative functions of an essential home décor element.
This morning I woke up and when I asked the mirror the fateful question:
“Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all?”
He replied:
“Hem… I’m sorry, but today definitely not you .”
It always ends up like this with the mirror. There are times you want to take it and send it to another state, planet, galaxy. So you don’t have to see your mirror image that says “I’m tired” or “when this biblical zit came out?”. However, even if the temptation for a glance is big – and sometimes maybe irresistible , mirrors can also be used for something else.
That’s right, the primary purpose of the mirror might not be to mirror.
Here, 4 alternative functions of this essential home décor element:
1. Make small spaces look wider.
A great classic. A large mirror placed in a small room will give the illusion of depth, making it seem wider. Suitable for the living area or the halls.
2. Light up a room
Reflecting the sunlight, mirrors are able to brighten up low-light rooms. The trick? Simply place one between the windows or in front of them to immediately capture the sunlight and illuminate the area.
3. To serve as headboard
If you haven’t found a bed structure yet, you can use a mirror, perhaps vintage, as a headboard. In one shot you could decorate and make larger and brighter your room.
4. Decorate walls
Mirrors like paintings? Why not! They’re nice, unconventional and very impactful. And if they’re all different and vintage, the visual impact is assured.
What do you think?
